Introducing a breathtakingly inventive futuristic suspense novel about one woman who rebels against everything she is told to believe.
Emma wakes in a hospital, with no memory of what came before. Her husband, Declan, a powerful, seductive man, provides her with new memories, but her dreams contradict his stories, showing her a past life she can’t believe possible: memories of war, of a camp where girls are trained to be wives, of love for another man. Something inside her tells her not to speak of this, but she does not know why. She only knows she is at war with herself.
Suppressing those dreams during daylight hours, Emma lets Declan mold her into a happily married woman and begins to fall in love with him. But the day Noah stands before her, the line between her reality and dreams shatters.
In a future where women are a rare commodity, Emma fights for freedom but is held captive by the love of two men—one her husband, the other her worst enemy. If only she could remember which is which. . . .
The first novel in a two-part series, Archetype heralds the arrival of a truly memorable character—and the talented author who created her. Published February 6, 2014
Another memory loss book?
I told you I couldn’t get enough!
Fans of The Hunger Games, Divergent, and Delirium rejoice –
another addicting dystopic adventure awaits you.
Set in the future, Emma wakes up in a hospital with no
knowledge as to why she’s there, or who she even is. Only her husband can fill in the gaps, as
well as her dreams… but her dreams seem to contradict the past that her husband
has painted for her.
Suspenseful, tense, and hard to put down, Archetype is the
beginning of a new trilogy. Unlike most
dystopian thrillers of late, however, this novel is not young adult. Although it’s not terribly inventive, the
plot and pacing are satisfying, and I absolutely cannot wait for book two.
I will be holding a giveaway in March for this novel (ebook
format), so come back soon!
Oooh...this one sounds great! I'm with you...sci-fi memory loss books are always fascinating, and I can't get enough! Despite it's slight lack of originality, I'm glad this one was a solid read for you Jackie! Definitely going to have to put this one on my TBR list! Thanks for sharing, and - as always - fabulous review! :D

Yay, I hope you end up liking it! The second in the series comes out later this year, too. Summer I think. :)
DeleteThis sounds wonderful and I like that it is NA and different for that genre!
ReplyDeleteYes. much different than most novels in the NA genre, for sure. I really liked it!
DeleteWoah this book sounds really intriguing. And suspenseful!
ReplyDeleteI must admit, I'm not the biggest fan of memory loss books, but this one sounds like it could be worth a read :D
Yeah, I can see why... characterization always seems to be lacking in memory loss books, since the character doesn't even know who they are. ;)
