Top Ten Tuesday #1

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the amazing girls over at The Broke and the Bookish

This week's topic is to list 10 popular authors that I haven't yet read.

1.  Nora Roberts

2.  Lee Child

3.  Cassandra Clare

4.  Robyn Carr

5.  Diana Gabaldon

6.  Maya Banks

7.  Sylvia Day

8.  Sandra Brown

9.  Danielle Steel

10.  J. R. R. Tolkien

Too many books, too little time!  I am proud that I had to go all the way through Amazon.com's Author Rank to find 10 authors I haven't yet read.  I am a little embarrassed to admit that I haven't yet read anything by J.R.R. Tolkien, though.

  1. From your list, I've only read JRR Tolkien and Cassandra Clare. I own Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books and would love to read those one day. They are just so large and intimidating, I haven't found the time to read them. Some of the others you named, I haven't read b/c they kind of old school and I've been trying to catch up with all these YA authors that are out, LOL...

    1. Yes, Galaldon's books are extremely intimidating. I think I've read the first 3-4 pages of Outlander a few times. but something kept making me stop very quickly. I typically love time travel romances, too. Thanks for stopping by! :)

    2. Michelle and Jackie, I noticed your talking about Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books. I don't know if you know this, but Starz is making it into a TV series.Don't know if you both like reading the book before you see the movie or tv series. :) The size of the books are intimdating, but there really amazing books. I just recently finished book 7 and eagerly awaiting book 8 that comes out this June.

    3. I did not know that there was going to be a show on Starz. That will definitely convince me to read the series. Thanks for the heads up, Debbie!

  2. I loved Sandra Brown back in the day, an author that turned me into a Suspense genre gal.

    1. I'm very surprised I've never read anything by her during my mystery/suspense kick. Maybe I'll check her out!

  3. I haven't read anything by Diana Gabaldon either! I hear nothing but good things though, and hope to be able to give her books a try sometime later this year. Robyn Carr is another one.

    1. A previous commenter told me that they are making the Outlander book series into a television series on Starz. I think I'm just going to wait for that. Too many books, too little time. :)
